Lon also has substantial commercial leasing experience in both retail and office leasing. Recent Transactions Represented LaSalle Bank on construction financing for Cordish Co’s $850+million “Power & Light District” mixed-use project in Kansas City. Represented owner of the Country Club Plaza on all retail and office leasing. Represented Sprint PCS (from 1996 inception) on national rollout of hundreds of retail stores. Represented Beauty Brands Salon-Spa-Superstore (second to Ulta in retail-salon services category) on dozens of leases of A+, free-standing and end-cap locations in Arizona, Texas. Represented largest Blockbuster Video franchisee on dozens of land acquisition/leases/store-in-store in Pacific Northwest and Coachella Valley, CA development areas. Represented owner of the Plaza Colonnade project, a joint venture between Highwoods Properties and Copaken White & Blitt. Represented Garmin International on first (and to date only) retail store located on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Represented H&R Block in negotiation of development management agreement with Hines Group for new world headquarters. Represented H&R Block in unique arrangement with the Kansas City Repertory Theatre for development and joint use of ‘Copaken Stage’ within H&R’s world headquarters. Represented Garmin International on acquisition of ground for Olathe, KS world headquarters.
