Experience
Mike has extensive experience with commercial, industrial and residential real estate transactions, including formation, acquisition, initial capital financing, construction lending, development, leasing, sales, permanent and conduit lending, condominiums, ground leasing and public financing. Mike’s previous experience includes serving as counsel to local governing bodies, private lenders, developers, manufacturers, tenants, and national retailers.
Prior to joining The Katz Law Firm, Mike practiced in the Real Estate and Financial Institutions Department of Lathrop & Gage L.C., where he received the Jackalope Award for Distinguished Client Service.
Recent Transactions
Represented a retail developer in a public financing transaction involving the issuance of more than $160 million in municipal bonds.
Represented a retail developer in a $126 million sale of a stabilized shopping center involving the contribution of the property to a new special purpose entity, and the simultaneous closing of a permanent loan from a national commercial mortgage lender.
Represented several golf course developers in the acquisition and development of residential golf course communities.
Represented a Fortune 500 company in the sale of a 1.2 Million square foot manufacturing facility, including the assumption by the purchaser of the existing mortgage loan and involving the local economic development agency.
Represented apartment property owners in refinancing transactions with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Missouri Housing Development Commission.
